While release delays and lack of inventory have become commonplace in the video game industry, Valve is obviously doing well with its Steam Deck. Indeed, the manufacturer has just announced on Twitter that the production of the hybrid console “exceeded its estimates”.

This means that customers who were expecting their console for Q4 2022 should receive it sooner than expected. Moreover, the users concerned have already received an email to inform them of the good news. “Hello everyone, some of you may have received an order email today for your Steam Deck reservation for the Q4 window. It was not a mistake!”, confirms Lawrence Yang of Valve.

He adds : “We will be moving more people from the Q4 window to the Q3″ window. The framework goes on to state that an official announcement and additional information will be released soonwhile reminding players to monitor their mailbox, in case of update of the status of their reservation.

As a reminder, in July 2022, Valve had assured that all reservations would be delivered before the end of 2022. The manufacturer had then confirmed that it had managed to double the production of the Steam Deck, allowing it to ship twice as much consoles per week. Nevertheless, let us specify that these efforts to reinforce the production rate of the Steam Deck had significant consequences on the manufacture of the Dock of the machine.

Indeed, Valve decided in June 2022 to postpone the launch of the accessory indefinitely, in particular because of the difficulties caused by the shortage. We suspect that the manufacturer preferred use in priority the components in its possession for the production of the Steam Deckto the detriment of that of the Dock.

For the moment, the only solution to connect your console to a second screen is to plug it into a USB-C multiport adapter. Please note, however, that the console does not yet support all of the adapters available on the market.
